This brochure seeks to educate mothers, fathers and caretakers of children under 5 years about the diseases caused by the pneumococcus which include pneumonia (infection of the lungs), meningitis (infection of the coverings of the brain), bacteraemia (infection of the blood) and otitis media (infection of the blood). It furthers on to highlight on the preventative measures that one could undertake to reduce the risk of a child getting pneumococcal infection stressing more on getting the child vaccinated against this infection. Target –parents and caretakers of under 5’s.
