Race Against Malaria campaign enters BotswanaA historic cross border malaria elimination campaign event involving eight SADC countries entered Kasane on Botswana side at on the 20th April 2014. The Race Against Malaria (RAM) initiative is aimed at creating awareness as well as mobilising resources towards eliminating malaria in the region. The race initiative involves inter country malaria teams with convoys taking part in cross boarder activities to engage with stakeholders and communities in Botswana, Namibia, South Africa Mozambique, Malawi, Swaziland, Zimbabwe and Zambia. Addressing the campaign convey on the Botswana side as well as launching the Botswana leg of the race, on 21st April 2014, Hon Minister of Health, Rev. Seakgosing said it was critical for the region to strengthen cross boarder collaborations and harmonise malaria control activities in order to win the battle against malaria.
