The State of the World’s Children Report 2019 Launched

For her part Ms.Onalenna Ntshebe from Department of Health Service Management, said Botswana is ranked as the second highest morbidity, as malnutrition remains a concern.

Ntshebe said causes of malnutrition are versatile, including food insecurity, high food prices and limited purchasing power for the poor households, poor feeding practices and limited access to diversified diets. She stated that despite success in nutrition advocacy, the nutrition sector is faced with challenges, among them being inadequate capacity at all levels and poor inter-sectoral linkages to address malnutrition and diminishing demand and awareness of the nutrition services.
