World Patient Safety Day Commemorated
Ms. Munyere also said the main challenges facing patient safety today is ensuring that appropriate and sustainable systems are put in place to ensure the success of strategic patient safety initiatives, however she emphasized that commitment and engagement of healthcare leadership across all levels of our health systems is needed to create a culture that puts the patient safety and health worker safety at the apex of healthcare offered.
She emphasized the need for training healthcare personnel on health systems strengthening, including patient safety. She called on all patients and customers to actively participate and take responsibility for their own health as this will reduce the number of safety incidents, also calling to action all stakeholders to provide adequate resources and have systems in place to promotes patient and healthcare workers safety
Ms. Munyere concluded by appreciating all healthcare workers for their immense contribution towards the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic and urging the public to adhere to measures that prevent the spread of covid-19 as provided in public health regulations.
