The Minister of Health & Wellness Dr. Alfred R. Madigele was paid a courtesy visit by Joy Phumaphi who is currently the Executive Secretary of the African Leaders Malaria Alliance, an alliance of 49 African Heads of State and Government. She also serves as co-Chair of the Independent Expert Review Group, “for Every Woman Every Child”.

The focus of the visit was to plan and discuss the End Malaria council and the End Malaria Now initiative that aims for the total eradication of Malaria from the African Continent. She highlighted that the nation of Botswana is well placed to tackle this problem and that together with adequate manpower & tools that Botswana could be the first country in Africa to eradicate Malaria.
