MoHW Health Research Ethics Training

The Ministry of Health and Wellness through the Research Regulation Division conducted a 2 day Research Ethics Training Workshop. The purpose of the training was to capacitate research ethics committee members in ethics and review process as well as to assist the members to effectively carry out their mandate of protecting the dignity, welfare and rights of participants in health research. The training was facilitated by Ms Retha Britz a BCOMPLAINT Consultant from South Africa engaged by Botswana Harvard Partnership (BHP).

This forum brought together the Health Research Ethics Committees at national level, International Review Botswana based at health facilities and representatives of BHP from the region.

The training has been made possible by BHP through Trials of Excellence in Southern Africa, a capacity-building grant within the European and Developing Countries Trials Partnership (EDCTP).
