African Vaccination Week

Kgalagadi South DHMT on the 24th April 2019 Launched African Vaccination Week (AVW) under the theme “Protected Together: Vaccines work!”. African Vaccination Week was established in 2010 during the 60th session of the regional Committee in Equatorial Guinea: Malabo, and endorsed by all member states in the African Region to maintain advocacy, increase community participation and improve delivery of immunizations services by increasing awareness of the importance of every child’s need and right to be protected from vaccine preventable diseases. AVW is commemorated every year during the last week of April.

Giving keynote address at the event Regional Education Director Ms. M. Kesenye emphasized that when children are immunized, families and communities survive and thrive, and vaccines benefit everyone.
