The affiliated Health Training Institutions, College of Technical and Vocational Education, Botswana College of Engineering and Technology and Colleges of Education held the 4th combined Graduation Ceremony on the 19th September 2014 at University of Botswana Stadium under the theme Quality Tertiary Education: A foundation for sustainable social and economic development at the University of Botswana stadium.

In her welcome remarks, the Deputy Permanent Secretary for Ministry of Health Ms Ontlametse Mokopakgosi said 1627 graduands were conferred with diploma awards. 955 were from colleges of Education, 506 from Institute of Health Sciences and 166 from Botswana College of Engineering and Technology. “We are not only concerned about the additional numbers to the existing skilled workforce but most importantly with new innovations and quality they are bringing to the service” She said.

On behalf of The Executive Secretary of SADC HE Dr Stregomena Lawrence Tax, Mr Clement Kanyama encouraged the graduands to effectively apply and utilize the knowledge and skills that they have acquired so as to contribute to the sustained development of Botswana and the SADC region.
