Health Hub
A strategic office established in 2008 to facilitate the development of the health sector, supporting public and private sector interaction and collaboration in order to address health sector challenges and opportunities. Our job is to Fast-track health sector growth and delivery. The Health Hub facilitates opportunities for partnerships and collaboration between public and private sector, the community and individuals to stimulate growth and improvements of the health sector. We are committed to health sector innovation and entrepreneurship to deliver valuable and competitive solutions that support economic growth, creating new jobs and opportunities alongside Botswana's economic goals.
What is being done to improve delivery and quality of health care
To improve access, the public health-care system will develop centers of excellence that will offer high standard of health care to the public.
Major areas of focus:
• Outsourcing selected services (eg. laundry, maintenance and cleaning services) for improving efficiency
• Outsourcing freight and logistics of pharmaceutical products
• Outsourcing entire hospital space where appropriate and deemed value adding
