Department of AIDS Care Prevention

The Department of AIDS Prevention and Care provides comprehensive HIV/AIDS services in the health sector. Develops strategies programs and systems for response, prevention, treatment, care and support services of HIV/AIDS.


Prevention and Control Services.
Provides Behaviour Change Interventions and Communication (BCIC) on HIV/AIDS. Provides HIV/AIDS and STI Counselling and Testing Services. Provides AIDS information. Provide technical guidance to HIV/AIDS workplace programmes.

Care and support
Provide comprehensive clinical care for people infected by HIV/AIDS. Provision of ARV Treatment, Prevention and management of Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs). Prevention of Mother to Child Transmission (PMTCT) services. Community Home Based Care (CHBC) services.

AIDS Information Management.
Monitor and evaluate the Health Sector HIV/AIDS Response. Track the HIV and AIDS epidemic by conducting second generation HIV/AIDS/STI Sentinel Surveillance.
