First Public Occupational Health Service Centre opened in Botswana

Meanwhile one of the ex-miners, Mr Simon Dikhudu decried lack of support and delay in services from relevant stakeholders. Mr Dikhudu said ex-miners were exposed to various challenges among them respiratory diseases, limited occupational health services and compensation.

The occupational health service centre has specialized occupational health staffing and equipment to provide occupational services. The services includes screening for TB,Silicosis and case management,HIV/AIDS Counseling and testing, benefit medical examinations, diagnosis of occupational health diseases, linkage to compensation and electronic submission of compensation claims to locally and south Africa.
